The Elizabeth White Creative

Inter is an immersive performance experience about the interconnected nature of all living beings. Using movement data of dancers and soft traces of blurred footage of the body, Inter juxtaposes the abstract with the identifiable to create a cosmic sense of life where disconnected entities slowly morph into one large interconnected being. As the piece progresses, dancers roam through the audience, to create a deepened channel between the world inside the screen and the audience members themselves.

"Your assumptions are your windows to the world. Scrub them off once in a while, or the light won't come in." -Isaac Asimov

A live processing performance piece created in collaboration with choreographer HyeYoung Jo Borden. This piece uses a body-sensing camera to detect contours of the human figure and remap them as shadows of white light behind the dancers as they move. The visuals are being manipulated in real-time, allowing the dancers freedom to engage with one another and the space differently each time.
